New Style Trend: LL Bean Duck Boot

I recently was in the east coast with my boyfriend who is from Framingham, MA. We went to Britten Woods, NH to spend a few days up there in 12 degrees and in the snow. Now, being a girl born and raised from Los Angeles, I really didn't have the proper attire. My boyfriend said to just worry about staying warm and forget about being fashionable. We stayed in a lodge in the white mountains with other avid skiers, hikers, and snowshoers. LL Bean was the sponsor for this lodge and thankfully offered "ski/snow" attire which included snow boots. Most of the girls were wearing the LL Bean duck boot which I thought were actually really cute and ended up being very fashionable. Funny thing is, I open up Yahoo news and there they are! "L.L Bean's familiar duck boot with leather uppers and rubber soles — designed for slogging through mud and snow — has become something of a fashion statement owing to its newfound popularity on college campuses, the company says. Another reason is new styles, including something Leon Leonwood Bean surely never envisioned in 1912: bright blue and pink leather, new for spring." Question is, can I rock them here in LA or is this only an east coast barnyard, muddy, snowy trend? Will the duck boot follow the steps of the Ugg boot? We'll see...
